Social Media: Which local universities of applied sciences are leading the pack? 🔍

We have once again surveyed and analyzed the social media presence of Austria’s universities of applied sciences and their activity on Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and other platforms for the year 2025:

📈 Interactions on the social media pages of Austria’s universities of applied sciences are increasing significantly, by a remarkable +25.0% compared to the previous year.

🥇 With over 177,000 interactions, the BFI University of Applied Sciences in Vienna has secured first place in our social media ranking this time. Congratulations!

👏 But other universities of applied sciences are also making extensive use of social media; also in the top 5: IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences, MCI | The Entrepreneurial School®, Burgenland University of Applied Sciences, and the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt.

💬 Instagram plays the most important role among platforms, but TikTok is also gaining ground among universities of applied sciences, with a total of over 30 million views in 2025.
